PRODUCT RECALL: BLAVINGAD FISHING GAMES

Updated: May 28, 2023

CHILDREN PRODUCT RECALL  BLAVINGAD FISHING GAMES

IKEA has issued an April 6, 2023, RECALL on their BLAVINGAD Fishing Games.

The recall was initiated due to a safety concern. IKEA received reports of the small rivets in the plastic fish detaching, posing a choking hazard for young children. If ingested, they could cause serious internal injuries and require emergency medical treatment.

“BLAVINGAD”, article number “10539622,” supplier number “21576,” and “Made in China” are located on the back of their blue box. The ocean-themed fishing game consists of two wooden fishing lines with string and magnets to attract wooden play pieces with metal rivets. The game consists of 11 pieces and a die.

IKEA has received notice of four incident reports of the rivet coming loose. None of the reported incidents occurred in the U.S. or required medical attention.

About 25,000 were sold with about 2,200 sold in Canada.

They were sold at IKEA stores and online at IKEA.com from October 2022 through March 2023 for about $15.
